Events

The 2026-27 season of the Fund for Irish Studies includes the following events:

  • September 18, 2026Luke O’Neill (Trinity College Dublin), renowned Irish biochemist, immunologist, and author of bestselling accessible science books, reads from his work
  • October 30 — Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and Princeton Professor of Creative Writing Yiyun Li reads from Music Against the Night, her new historical saga tracing the life of Irish composer/pianist John Field
  • November 13 — Lecture by Peter Kelly, Galway native and Assistant Professor of Classics at Princeton, on the topic of Tim Robinson’s mapping of the Connemara landscape
  • February 12, 2027 — Performance by Irish fiddler Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, who is lead vocalist for Irish folk music band Altan (in Taplin Auditorium)
  • March TBA — Author, critic and scholar Fintan O’Toole delivers the annual Robert Fagles Memorial Lecture

Events are free and open to the public.

Free tickets are required for all events. Tickets generally go on sale 3-4 weeks before the event date. Reserve tickets through University Ticketing.

All events begin at 4:30 p.m. in the James Stewart Film Theater at 185 Nassau St. in Princeton, New Jersey, unless noted otherwise.
